Sandia Electro-Optics Corporation (SE-OC) Acquires Unique Services

Sandia Electro-Optics Corporation (SE-OC) acquired Unique Services Inc. ( www.UniqueSvs.com ) on 1-April-2013. Effective immediately, Unique Services will conduct business as a Unit of SE-OC.

SE-OC was incorporated in NM earlier of this year with the goal of developing, manufacturing, and selling optically-enabled instrumentation for the life science and environmental sensing market segments. Commenting on the acquisition, SE-OC Founder & CEO Michael J. Cumbo said “Since the bill of materials for most optical instruments is at least 50% mechanical, it was strategically important for us to secure a source of highly customized precision opto-mechanical components. Unique Services clearly meets this foundational requirement and brings with it a valuable book of business and related contacts that is already expanding SE-OC’s scope of new business opportunities.”

Unique Services and SE-OC will continue to call Albuquerque home, and both will be based at the existing 2926 Girard Blvd. site for the next three to six months. SE-OC is actively searching for a larger facility in the same general area.

Bill Brittelle will continue as the Shop Foreman of Unique Services, sustaining the excellent work that you have come to expect from us. To help ensure good business continuity, Brian Langwell will also be consulting with us for the next 12 months. Sandia Electro-Optics Corporation Announces New Foreman For Unique Services, LLC

Sandia Electro-Optics Corporation (SE-OC) is pleased to announce that Esequiel “EZ” Lopez has recently joined the Company as the Foreman of its prototype machine shop, Unique Services, LLC. EZ is a TVI/CNM graduate, and is well known throughout Albuquerque’s precision machinist community as a broadly experienced shop foreman, detail-oriented CNC programmer, and diligent machine operator. He comes from a local family of successful machine shop owners and skilled machinists, and brings with him a real passion for safety, orderliness and cleanliness, quality, and delivery. SE-OC Founder & CEO Dr. Michael J. Cumbo said, “The addition of EZ to our team has already had a very positive impact on the 3D milling capabilities and productivity of our Unique Services machine shop.
